We are all sick of hearing Crompton and skaife saying that was a championship defining moment. Well none of them said that yesterday as the Team pushed the #18 back out of the pits with it's wheels looking like it had a Bob Jane Tmart wheel alignment.
That was the championship there and then.
A seasons worth of work was there for the taking. James Courtney satin the car. Just like Whingecup.
It wasn't a drivers championship anymore it was all about the team.
Getting Courtney out with enough time to do a flying lap won him the championship.
888 couldn't get that flying lap in. Suck.
With all the crap this team pulled together and whooped 888's arse.
That repair job was the defining moment of the championship.
Top job by SJ for throwing the elbows out after the restart and then pulling away from Whingecup.
I had very mixed emotions leading into the weekend but after seeing all those guys in the team putting that bent car back together it made me realise it's still on and who cares.
As much as i think we've lost James. I hope he has a better run than Davo and considering he's knows what's gone on at HRT , i'm still wondering why he'd go to the 5th best team out there
Well done James Courtney . What a cool head in some very trying moments
What a weekend! What a year! Great to see the #1 back where it belongs. Most V8 supporters don't understand what it is like to have the feeleing that we have right now. They are too busy following the favourite team of the week and change support of teams and brand of car like their undies.
Well done to DJR and all the employees that make this team so great!
Thats the best thing about Djr supporters, they stand by their team through thick and thin. I often say to my mates drivers come and go but the team stays the same. Its a pretty bloody good feeling knowing you support the best team in the category. The other sporting team I support in the NRL had a horror year but this more than makes up for it [y]
Nice work on the header of the forum. . . . . We have the Number 1 for a little while I suppose, and don't it feel good
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel either way, but I've been as crook as a dog all day and I was so happy to see Steve block whincup out at the end today, he showed them Tr88or's that they couldn't win even if James crashed out because he was keeping him at 5th instead of the 4th he needed,. . .bloody good stuff.[bw]
I haven't had a chance to post. We got home.from Syd at about 8 last night.
I have been pretty vocal about the lack of info coming out of djr the last couple of months and thought they should say something, even if it was something like "discussions are ongoing". Talking to Lisa yesty suggested that they probably weren't in a position to know enough to say anything.
The guys in the garage are legends and the current sporting director at djr is a first class bloke and people manager. That can't be any more solidly demonstrated than how it has been the last two months. Despite everything, they were going to win the championship.
Congratulations Adrian,Scott and your guys! It takes a lot a balls to achieve what you've achieved.
Congrats to James. Well driven mate. Sorry to see u go because u are my favourite driver, and I can only imagine how torn you.would be by the decision you've had to make. You've gotta do what's right for you. I will watch your progress with interest but my loyalty will remain with djr.
Congratulation to James, a well , hard earned championship. A Team effort . Well done DJR. To Steve Dick Charlie all the crew - what a year, indeed what a long fight over many, many years to get where we are now.
DJR and Jim Beam, The work hasn't stopped yet. Get that #1 on the car and feature it far and wide on all the promo work you can handle for the rest of the year - we won't have it for long.
