When it got back to 12-12 the Tigers never looked like winning. Occasionally when Benji had the ball i was a bit worried, but we grinded it out like we always do, they got tired, and we won the game and are now in the grand final

say what you like, the (st george) ILLAWARRA DRAGONS are there baby!! :D

A Tigers penalty at 12-all would have made it very interesting indeed. Benji had already been instructed to take the 2 but it just didn't materialise. The Dragons can definitely defend Mitch but struggle for enterprise in attack. This is where the Roosters have it all over you guys. It will be a very interesting game come Sunday. May the better team win...whoever that is!

Mate, Parra are a mess. Can't believe how they have treated Anderson.

They have lost some good players and are gaining some average ones. Could be a long 2011 for them, but hopefully not!

Hopefully DJR will make up for my Tigers disappointment...I need it [help]

I'm not even going to bother watching, . . . . . . [jk] [bgn]

Sorry Damo but I don't know what game you were watching that night! Take another look at Dwyer's hit on Wharea-Hargreaves. He tried to bulldoze over Dwyer so he lowered himself into the point on contact. There was no swinging arm from Dwyer...the point of contact was with the point of Dwyers shoulder. Fair hit in my book, and in the book of the likes of Gould et al. One of the greatest hits of the year and no cause for a penalty whatsoever! Correct decision.

You are a classic Roosters fan that only surfaces and gets vocal when your team performs yet you go missing every other day of the week. 23,000 at a Roosters home semi is a disgrace!!! Havent heard a peep from you about the chooks since 2003. Now look at them all jump on the bandwagon... [ak] [f] [crackup]

I was watching the same game, and I didn't say anything about a swinging arm. The point of contact WAS his shoulder, but, as I said, in any other game, that would have been a penalty. I don't agree with that rule but if you are going to enforce a shit rule throughout the year then you need to enforce it in the finals too. As you said, no consistency.

As far as "jumping on the band wagon", I have never gotten off it. Yes 2003 was a high since it was the first premiership win I'd ever seen, but it was all down hill from there and to be honest there hasn't been much to "crow" about lately, thats why this year is so sweet. From the shithouse to the penthouse in a year is pretty remarkable in anyones book. Yes, there has been some luck involved, but tell me a team that hasn't had the "bounce of the ball" go their way at some stage.

Anyway, you can all sit there and have your conversations about coulda, woulda ,shoulda, and about how all of your teams were ripped off, but the two best teams who scored the most points in the games that counted are there on sunday, and no amount of bitching and moaning is going to change that.

I will be over the moon if the Roosters win and equally dissapointed if they lose, but what I really want is an awesome game of footy thats played hard and fair without any referee influence. That would be good enough for me.

One more thing. Going back to the scrum that should never have been a scrum. If you are going to be pissed off at anyone, be pissed of at Hieghington for standing over the ball staring at it for an eternity instead of picking it up or falling on it. THAT'S why the Tigers lost.

It's nice having an all NSW final again... feels like a proper game of footy.

Surely you'd want your great coach Wayne Bennett to experience another grand final victory? Word down here is that if he gets the job done, he'll move back to QLD..

I got mixed feelings about the final. I can not stand the roosters. I like Bennett but if his team wins the Supercoach chatter will start again and I like to think the the Broncs success had some QLD spirit and fight not just because of the coach.
It could be a draw and get a replay next week like GayFL[crackup]. what a load of crap that Sport is.
On second thoughts my dislike of the the Rooters hopes they get the butts reemed.
WFC anyway

You just wanna see Smithy cry!! [y]

That'd get me to watch.

To be honest, if the stupid rumours that the angry ant (Ricky silent P, Stuart) is going to be the Bronko's caoch next Year, come true, I probably wont even watch at all next year either.

As for the All Sydney Grand final, bought and paid for and ensured by Gallop and his gestapo who ignored salary cap rumours everywhere except canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne, . . . wonder why?[jk][jk]

I have mixed feeling about it as well.

Super coach my arse he's just an ignorant prick.

Have a good look over those Bronco's teams that won 6 premierships.
With a playing roster like that he should have won more.

Bennetts an egotistical cranker. I hope StGeorge fall flat on their face just because that clown is the coach

Gotta disagree there Col.
Wayne has never been totally at home in the limelight which is unfortunate given his chosen career path.
He certainly isn't ignorant. He is a very astute scholar of the game and a gentleman to boot.
Unfortunately most people only see him through the media in his role as a coach and I understand how they come to conclusions similar to yours.
I have known him since the 60's through Rugby League and the Police force.
He doesn't suffer fools lightly and treats everyone he deals with equally (until he discovers what you are really like).
The world would be a better place if there were more Wayne Bennetts here.

Like him or not, Bennett seems to be able to find that something that makes players unify as a team and his record of wins is pretty amazing.

He is a good reader of people and he knew that if he didn't go he was going to be given the push.

I have no animosity to Wayne, he does what he does to ensure his kids will be able to survive when he's no longer around, and makes no apology for that, he wants to keep that (his private life) as private as possible and again I can't blame him for that.

The pedistal that bennett has been placed on is definately not of his own making and one he rejects and wouldn't get up on anyway, i guess if he had as much dedication to his own media persona as some of them do maybe he'd be more liked but perhaps his ability to foster great performances from both great and those who haven't yet acheived would be compromised.

Who ever wins this year, it's mute anyway after teams were hobbled by salary cap issues that were outside of players control, and yet it was them that were penalised for it, so "grand" final. . . . . I don't think so.

Mediocre final in my opinion, no matter who wins because the outcome was influenced by Gallop more thatn the players on the field.

Rant over, . .:D

he has been there for 2 years, both year first at the end of the regular rounds, and in his 2nd year taken them to a gf, possibly win it,

Where as the broncs sprit gone?? or was it the coach?. i think wallace needs to aim up more, take more controll, locker is only getting older.

I'm with the Dragons this weekend (and only this weekend)

You weren't part of Bjelke Petersens special squad were you??

Mate if you're part of his inner group all is fine but they're are plenty of others that weren't that don't have the affection towards him.

Maybe you'd like to ask him why Brain Neibling and Greg Conescu never got a fair hearing at the Broncs.
Why Gene Miles gave away a rep career to captain the Broncos only to be cut at the end of the year.
Why the best 5/8th we've seen had to go to the Gold coast to play in position and there are plenty more.

Credit where credit is due. He is a good coach. He has good personal skills with those close to him.

I put the Bronco's success down to Cyril Connell more than Bennetts coaching

A lot on here are bagging Smith. Truth of the matter is Bennett was the one sledging Smith in the first place and Bennett has come out smelling like roses.

Wasn't part of the goon squad but have felt its effects.
The Broncs Club including Wayne had to make some very tough decisions and naturally not everyone was happy with them.
Barry Maranta (original Bronc with Porky) once told me if you worry about what others think of your business decisions then you shouldn't be in business.

I agree with you about old Cyril - he was Deputy Principal at BSHS when I first crossed his path - a better judge of talent you will never find.

What odds on a draw tomorrow (After 80 mins)[sh]

Last time there was a draw in the AFL (1977) there was a draw in the rugby League Grand Final.
