While 83 was a disaster as far as the ATCC was concerned for Dick Johnson & the Red Roo XE [V], DJ still managed to qualify on the front row in 2 out of the 7 rounds, & scored 2 podiom finishes.

Which tracks did he qualify on the front row in 83 & in what position[?][?]

Which 2 tracks did he manage to score a podiom in the 83 ATCC & in what position did he finish [?][?]

I don't know this one off the top of my head, but I fortunately have a copy of James Hardie 1000 1983/1984 handy.

Podiums:

3rd Sandown Park ATCC
3rd Wanneroo ATCC

Front Rows:

2nd Wanneroo ATCC

Also, DJ was on course to win the Oran Park enduro of that year, but had a problem with the wheels on the pitstop and, ultimately finished second to George Fury.

Too easy SF. Wasn't the best of seasons 4 DJR after the success of 81 & 82 but she all started to change 4 the better when he added a coat of green paint at the AEC round at Oran Park. With the addition of the bigger wheels & a few other goodies, DJ was competitive again & as SF mentioned, he should have won the OP AEC round, was quick at Sandown before early trouble put him out & we all know what happened at Bathurst..

84 was a much better year..
