The mighty beast was the only opposition to Brock in 1980 & continued to race sparingly in the ATCC in Channel 9 colours till the end of 1982.

Q. Did the Channel 9 Chev Comaro ever win a round of the ATCC [?],& if so, where & when [?][?]

& that bell is making the right sounds SF. Sandown 1980 is indeed correct.[8D]

Now ring that bell twice more & see where else he won..;);):D

Did he come through at Adelaide in 1981? IIRC, DJ bounced the XD off him and punctured a tyre at that round, but I can't quite remember who won that race.

I had though that the Tru-Blu car owned Sawndown in 1981.... wasn't that where Brock only managed 1 lap of racing all day, due to broken axles?

Oran Park 82 is indeed correct after Moffat was penalised 1 min for jump start & the Brock HDT saga.

Not Sandown 81. Johnson was untouchable there in 81 & Bartlett didn't run there anyway.

Not AIR 81 either Henry. Bartlett finished 3rd there behind Johnson & Brock in the 2 heat round..

So far we have
*Sandown 1980
*Oran Park 1982

One more ring of the bell should do it people.....

Correct Henry. I thought this one had your name written all over it..

On the 81 question, Bartlett contested selected events in the Comaro & picked up a couple of 3rds at OP & AIR IIRC..

I only had a brief glimpse at the results for those years... for a car which is so iconic of the era, it didn't actually have a huge amount of success, or racing miles for that matter. That said, it was the only car to get within cooee of Brock in 1980, but at least he had the basis of a well-proven package, whereas Bartlett was developing the Chev, in addition to recovering from his F5000 crash in 1979.

I think most people remember the Comaro for it's feats on the saturday of the 1980 Bathurst 1000 & that unbelievable lap in the top 10 run-off in the wet for the 81 James Hardie 1000..
