In 1980 81 Colin Bond campaigned a Capri in the championship
He won the under 3.0L class with 7 wins.
Where did this car finish in the championship??
Who was the original owner and driver of this car??
And who purchased the car from the original owner for Bondy to use??

Seton Fanatic you should know the last question

So Bo wasn't the original owner & driver Col??

Or was Peter Hopwood the original owner of the Capri [?][?][?]

Carries a bit of history that one Col. It's funny, when you look at 1981, only the consistency & reliability of particulily Dick Johnson & the TRU BLU XD stopped him taking the title in 81. Maybe Bond could have won the ATCC in the little Capri if they were committed in 79 or 1980 as they were in 1981.

Bond was beaten to the ATCC because of a bonus points system for the top six outright finishers. Bond earnt maximum points for the year, something which DJ didn't do. If DJ didn't earn those bonus points, Colin Bond would be a two-time ATCC champion.

the 1982 result was eclipsed by an even smaller Ford machine... who and what, and where did this one end up that year?

Bob Holden was the driver in a Ford Escort and finished second in the ATCC. For a while, it appeared that he had won it, but the the consistent court squabbles of 1982 eventually saw Dick awarded the title.
