Want to find out if the Workshop Tours conducted Wednesdays require a prior booking or if it's just a turn up and go type thing.

Also, from those that have done the tour, is it better to go the week before or after a meeting?

Are the drivers usually anywhere to be seen or do they make a point of meeting the tours?

How much do you actually get to see?

Cheers![8D]

Hi guys,

Tours are conducted on Wednesdays at 1pm. Booking is absolutely essential, especially now that the V8Supercar season is about to commence.

Based on the schedule of the crew, it is best to go for a tour the week after the race meeting, as the cars have usually left for the race track on the Wednesday prior to the race meeting, so the post-race meeting Workshop Tour is definitely recommended.

The drivers do definitely try to be present for the tours, however their very busy schedule in preparation for the races (training, appearances, meetings with engineers etc) means they can't always make it for the tours. Dick is usually around & willing to talk to the public, however he too has a very tight schedule most days, so it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time!!

Tours cost $15.00 for an adult, and $7.50 for a primary school-age child. Runs for about 45 minutes and starts at 1pm sharp. We take you throughout the entire workshop - into each of the specialist preparation rooms, through the Shell Helix transporter (when available), into the fabrication area, through the engine room (subject to availability & use), and give you a general idea of the costs involved in V8Supercars today.

If anybody has any further queries, or would like to make a booking, they can be made on (07) 3287 3519 or emailed through shop@djr.com.au

Thanks for your interest,

Jonathan
