Went out for a look today. And it's hotter than usual this year. Damn dry season hasn't kicked in yet.
Could make for an interesting longer race on Sunday. They haven't raced for a while, and that was at Winton which was a fair bit cooler.

The DJR/TP cars looked good. The #12 didn't sound so good at the end of P1, so, I'm not surprised they did an engine change. Fingers crossed for some decent results this weekend. It's what the fans want to see!

Announcement made today that this round will be a night race from 2018.
Although, not sure how likely that is, considering, "the Chief Minister said a re-elected Country Liberals Government will commit to developing infrastructure that would see Darwin become the first Supercars night race in the country."

This isn't all that likely, considering the latest scandal to hit the govt with a minister having to resign after sending wanking videos to a constituent filmed in a parliament bathroom.

I guess we'll find out if it will go ahead after the election in August.

For all the PR talk about being ahead of schedule I think privately most of the guys would be disappointed that they havent got one or both drivers amongst the 10 race winners at this point of the season. To be beaten to the winners circle by the Kellys and BJR (not going to mention the lotto winner in Adelaide) when most would have picked them to be one of the main challengers to the PRA/888 status quo smarts a bit as a supporter so I am sure the team feels it even more than we do.

Theres always hope the guys really hit their straps come the enduros and put some big runs on the board there, but we may just end up this season where volvo were last season.

I'm hoping that won't happen, . . . the cars have pace, the drivers seem to have got a handle on the cars, . .but they need to qualify and get away from those backmarker desperado's that will wreck your race to get one more spot, . . . what went on mid pack on Sunday was amateur hour stuff and let some fo the front running pack off the hook to drive away with it.
