WTF is going on?? DJR sold!!

I think they might have had the wrong team name when they were talking about it prior to Winton... Will have to wait and see what happens now. Hope the team has a good weekend...

Posts about DJR being sold again on V8Central... They are saying we will have an answer in the next few days. Tipped to be Marcus Marshall old man after PWR deal has fallen over.

I really wish all this crap would go away.

Actullay BB it was just bull**** started by some clown that also started a Ingall where next topic. In it he said that he heard that Ingall was leaving SBR and buying DJR. Thats where all that came from.

You can't discount the Enews report that DJR had in fact been sold.
So WTF is going on DJR
Has DJR been sold??
Has Enews got it wrong again like the Carling , Cochbrane thing???

The scary thing is that its a rumour ( lets hope so) that will not go away. And Enews prides itself on getting the news first. They have never retracted what they initially reported a month or so ago that DJR had or was going to be sold.

I hope its a rumour and that Enews has it wrong or there will be a lot of team mates asking some pretty serious questions especially those in the top 18 who have forked out large sums of moeny to be foundation members in some elaborate fundraising scheme. I really really hope not.

If this rumour is indeed fiction it should have gone away after a while, but it worries me that this one has persisted for some time now. Where there is smoke there is always fire, but I will again reserve my judgement until something official from DJR crosses my desk!

If DJR is sold, that will be it for me! I am glad I haven't invested in a membership yet, because If I had and the team is sold I would be mighty p!ssed!

I think for most of us here, the only thing seemingly that's keeping us interested in V8 Supercar is the 2007 increased performance of DJR. I don't think any of us here are 100% certain of the future of DJR past 2007 either & we are probably all fairly nervous as well with the prospect that sooner or later there will be no more Dick Johnson Racing.

I hope like hell that DJ doesn't sell up as DJR has been my passion (Outside of my wife & kids) since well... it's been that long now I can't remember but if it's going to happen, well that's business I guess & DJ is not stupid, he probably knows that V8 Supercar is on the decline at a rapid rate of knots & he should make a $ now while he can like any smart business man should do but.........If DJ does sell up, don't sell the team name, just sell the franchise & gear & whatever but please don't sell the name Dick Johnson Racing. Could you imagine some other team using the name DJR???? Don't think so..

But then again, DJ said the team is not for sale & I tend to believe him more so then a few keyboard experts on other forums!!!

Is this rumur number 1,865?? I dont think this one is any better than any of the rest..

However, Dick is not getting younger & I'm sure his getting close to saying. "Ive had enough, I just have to stop, relax, enjoy life, my wife, grand kids, etc, etc"... If Jnr doesn't or can't take over DJR, it's days are numbered I'm afrad.

"a well sourced rumour reached eNews HQ that our "DJR SOLD" headline from a few weeks back was about to happen, not Carlin, but an Aussie buyer we hear. Keep an eye on eNews"

It just keeps gaining momentum this story. I believe there is some truth to all this, can't blame Dick at all though, it's not much fun flogging a dead horse.

You got to look at it this way.
Who do you trust, Dicks word or rumours from the public and journo's trying for a headline to sell magazines week by week?

They have a big sponsorship for 3 years and they are the 5th placed team, and the drivers and their cars are going better this year than they have in ages.

DJR is on the "UP".

Its not about Trust its Business The V8 SuperCars as we know it today is Big Bucks & Team Fanciness are worth that, Big Bucks I guess Most things are For Sale if the Money is right. I say IF please read it as IF?..the sale was being looked into & not a rumor cause Dick? PR would have to hose down the smoke he would have to talk to his sponsors first & other Bodies within the V8 SuperCars group this would be the last place that a sale would be released?.. I have to agree with Henry

He has given a lot to the Sport & sometimes things change. I am not so sure if I would feel the same as I do about DJR if it was owned by the means of a sale or passed onto Steven Johnson or if someone does buy it. It will not the first team to be sold & fans/people have moved on?.

They have removed the article as well as a couple of others. It's also stated on a few of the other forums that others had seen the original article as well.
