We supported Johnson 17 as a group, Dick is an Icon of the sport, of all motorsport really for what he has achieved and thusly we have supported his endeavors as team owner running the 17 car and the driver taking up the cudgel at the wheel of 17,
Most of us , if not all, also supported and still do JB and the 18 while it was a DJR car number and we have had various other numbers in the second tier category, I recall Canto blasting the category and other numbers like the Number 61 albeit short lived,

So my question is should we be reaching out to fans of Fabian himself, who would have been Holden supporters more than likely or at least another teams supporters who may come with him to DJRTP and to Ford while they are here, and do they know about our page even.

Fabian seems well committed to DJR already and has been in the workshop a lot, along with Scott, using the gym and keeping an eye on the build, I have to say I don't know too much about the guy, except that he's fast, he's reasonably clean and he's a kiwi,

Fabian Coulthard is eager to hit the ground running at DJR Team Penske

Fabian Coulthard feels he is settling in well at DJR Team Penske having spent time at the team’s workshop during the off season break.
The Kiwi’s move from Brad Jones Racing to the Queensland operation as part of the squad’s two car expansion was one of the high profile changes in the V8 Supercars silly season.
After four years driving a BJR Commodore, Coulthard is keen to quickly integrate himself with his new team.
While the bulk of the DJR Team Penske staff are fresh faces, the five-time V8 Supercar race winner will continue to work alongside engineer Phil Keed, who has also joined the team from BJR.
Eager to hit the ground running this year the New Zealander has already begun the process of acclimatising to the Falcon FG X before his maiden run in the car next month.

The team is currently building new cars for both Coulthard and his team-mate Scott Pye.
“It is going to be important to gel with the team in this early part of the year before the season starts and get familiar with everybody,” Coulthard told Speedcafe.com.
“Simple things like learning everyone’s name is quite a challenge but we have a got a few days to get on top of that and hit the ground running.
“This lead up time is a good opportunity to go to the factory and sit in the car.
“We are in a position where I can put a seat in Scott’s car and get comfortable and adjust the cockpit ergonomics for me so it is somewhere close. We can then fine tune from there.”
Having witnessed the team’s upturn in performance towards the end of the 2015 campaign, Coulthard is excited by the squad’s potential this year.
DJR Team Penske netted its first podium at Pukekohe when Pye claimed a third place finish in Race 30.
“I was impressed with how the team progressed last year and I feel like they have done a fantastic job to get from where they were to where they are now,” added Coulthard.
“I think at this time last year they had a top eight car so I feel like there is plenty of promise.
“There is going to be a period of learning and hopefully that is not too long and we can hit the ground running in Adelaide.”
The opening round of the V8 Supercars season will take place on the Adelaide streets at the Clipsal 500 from March 3-6.

I support DJR/TP no matter who drives or works for them, so Fabian will have my support along with all the other new comers to the team.

I still get on well with others who have long left DJR and will always support anyone who has tried their best for our team.

Yep , [bw], as we all do, . . but Fabian will come with his own fans , who may not be either DJR fans or Ford fans, . see what I mean?

My nickname was based on a Kiwi driving car 18 (Radisich). May need to check Fabians passport first, but a change to DJR14 may be on the cards.

$12 aussie bucks might equal $14 NZ bucks, . . but yeah 12 looks like being the number, . .[bgn]

I thought the original announcement was that Fabian (surprisingly) was bringing his number with him, but a DJR 1 - 2 does sound good!

I can edit/change your forum username easy enough and it will also change on all previous post you have made.

 yep, good catch though.
back on topic.. I was lucky enough to bump into Fabs in my local Coles (i.e. I saw him and stalked him until he was in a corner) just before Christmas, I think he is genuinely chuffed at the support he's received from DJR fans so far, he came across as a very down to earth, approachable and relaxed type of guy, I reckon DJR supporters will fall in love with him.
