Gday All,

Is it me, or has ticket pricing gone up again?
I was just looking at ticket pricing for Eastern Creek:

3 Day Pass ? Sat, Sun, Mon
Adult Rate ? Starts @ $94.50 to $135.75

Saturday Only ?
Adult Rate ? Starts @ $29.50 to $50.75

Sunday Only -
Adult Rate ? Starts @ $39.50 to $60.75

Monday Only ?
Adult Rate ? Starts @ $59.50 to $80.75

Im only able to go on the Monday & it looks like I'm up for $60.00?!

I think they are starting to stretch the friendship!

60 bucks for Monday is a complete joke (this sport is being just for the rich). Then add 20 bucks for pits & your up to 80 bucks just to walk in the door, add another 20 bucks for ****, half cooked, half cold lunch. All this & you can't see **** all at EC.

Then they want to know why they don't get a big crowd..

Giving EC a miss me thinks :(

It's a fuc!#$g rort!

If we lived in any other country, we'd be rioting and protesting at the offices of VESA.

Heartland sport my left nut. This isn't Clipsal or Bathurst? Why the price hike?

No wonder people are being turned off this parade (note I refused to use the word sport)

Anyone else remember $10 Pit Passes at Oran Park?

Last year at QR the young bloke and myself paid $85 I think for entry and pit, when I got in and met up with 'POITA' he'd paid $59 for the same ticket on the internet. The whole thing is a rip off, especially the 3 klm walk back to the cars at the days end.

I just can't justify it. The facilities just don't add up for what they are charging.
Which is a real shame considering how well DJR are doing this year.
I think I'll just wait & bitch again about the same things again when Oran comes around. At least that will be the Jim Beam 400!

I wish the teams and drivers voiced up and said something about it. Otherwise we just get labelled as whingers.

Hats off to Russell Ingall back in the late 90's for picking on Oran Park and commenting on that one garbage bin that hadn't been moved... but had been painted.

VESA control every aspect of the sport to the point where even Neil Crompton is sounding like a dismissive PR rep for Cochrane and all things wonderful about CH7.

Why can't someone like Bowe or Perkins or Skaife step up and fight for us and let them know that $130 to sit on a plastic chair under a roof for 2 days to practically watch a large screen is horrendous.

And pit passes are $40! Let's not forget that price the vendors charge for cold oiley food.

All up you need at least $170 for one person?!?

I remember watching the final Round of the ATCC in 97/98 at Oran and paying $30 for entry. Simple. $10 for Pit Pass.

But $120 or $130 odd dollars?? For what exactly? A freezing cold snoozefest. Screw you guys VESA. What are we paying for? Same facilities. Same crap at the Creek, so why the f-ing price hike. It's sickening. Someone do something for f--k's sake!

What really makes me laugh is that they are so dumb they don't realise they are costing themself more money by having such high prices becuase people stay away!!

My brother asked me on the weekend if we where going to EC on Monday. I told him the prices & he said forget. That is 3 arses that won't be sitting on the grass come Monday becuase it is too expensive. And I don't think we'll be alone. And with the excepted rain for this weekend, I think they are going to have a very **** crownd number if you aske me..

Are all rounds in others states this expensive??

Jim Beam have the naming rights to Oran park this year, good to see they are getting into the sport. - I wish it could result in realistic prices for the punters.

If I don't jag a ticket from work for QR I'll give it a miss. I'll probably go to the test day to get my DJR / Ford supercar teams fix, and watch the telly.
Comfort of home,
no 3 km walk or bus ride to the car park,
no traffic jams in or out, car stays clean - away from the QR dust bowl (it will be worse in these drought times),
hot food,
cold beer,
and most importantly -
no holden lovin' morons wanting to sit down anywhere near me!!

:D

It's a ****ing joke.

Like others have said they are pricing themselves out of business.

This shift to Monday racing was only done for dollars as they are trying to get people there for 3 days rather than 2 because most have to work on friday.

It's also being dont to cover Cochbranes **** up with CH7

Now with the collapse of TKR, HRT struggling to pay that scottish piece of ****, DJR struggling to be on the grid this year, and the sale of teams that is happening and being mooted i'm not to sure what you think but this series is in danger of falling apart sooner rather than later.

The biggest problem and it has been for ages is the Tail(VESA) is wagging the dog(TEGA) not the other way around.

TEGA can still save this seeing as it is the team owners who are represented here and the first thing they need to do is **** Cochbrane off and start getting some proper direction back into this circus because at the moment it's like rudderless ship

Yeth, no doubt heeth the problem!

This dash for cash marketing also ran thinks progress for the category is reflected by making it a big money event, big money to hold races , big money to enter races, big money to stay in it.

Take the V8's away from its roots, and that means the people that buy the cars, and it will fall down in a heap.

What is Tony's job anyway & how would anyone go about getting rid of him? Does he own it or is he elected like the PM?? His run this sport for 10 or so years, time to go... Get someone new, with different ideas... But how does this happen?

Some of you guys have me stumped!!!...I am not happy with the way Our Sport is being out Priced to the Grass Root Fan Base ...As to why I am stumped, some of you are happy to part with almost $200 to become a Fan of this sport does this not send the massage that its fine to fuel this money grabbing machine we have known as our Sport? Then some of you whine about the Price it is to go & watch it?I find this a little bit Hypocritical

TS-50

Hypocritical ? I don't get that.

We, who've paid to be a DJR Team Mate to help keep one the last ledgends of motorsport on track and are prepared to part with a fair old chunk of change to do it, get to see and outcome on track every round, two Jim Beam Race Cars doing better than we've seen for a few years.

If that were to be recipricated in the amount we pay for entry etc for each round, some of the tracks around would have permenent garages, for pits, have seating around the tracks and better facilities, and if that were the case , then yeah , fair enough, we'd be Hypocritical, but it ain't from year to year we see nothing but deterioration around our local tracks for the most part and facilities from the dark ages.

But I take your point, the fan has to pay and pay , if you don't like it , bad luck.

I can see why you don?t understand it? I should have made my post clearer? When the powers to be (The ones that own tracks right back to V8 SuperCars wanting their slice) see people handing over fist full of dollars for memberships & all the trimmings from the teams they will keep wanting a share of it hence the Entry Fees as high as they are to the Vendors having to pay top dollar for a spot to sell second grade food at a top price? If you feel all warm & fuzzy because you help pay for some ones wage for the year by being a Member that?s good as its HOW I felt when I dug deep into my pockets after the ?Rock? like so many did to make Dick Johnson Racing what it is today (That?s Dicks words) I always buy from companies that sponsor them when & where I can? Part of your Quote ? if you don't like it, bad luck? its not bad Luck far from if its sad when Fans cant afford the Entry Fee but then it?s the Money Machine that is missing out as they will still sit at home & watch it?See if they Track Owners right back to V8 SuperCars was to start to spend money on things (Fans) Like better Seating Grandstands it would be cutting into their Profits. They will not do this until they have to start enticing the FANS Back or cut the Price of things just to get bums back on the crappy old seats again? after they have out priced this Sport

So Yes I do find it a Little Bit Hypocritical when one decides to spend money then whinge that its getting outa hand. I am Sorry if you took offence to it?..

Valid point Keith, but I didnt spend $200 to become a "fan of this sport".
I spent $200 to be a member of my favourite V8 team, to help DJR stay in the sport and because I like merchandising.
Frankly, I find spending $60 to park in a dustbowl that takes two hours to get out of, to have to piss in a tin shed or cement block that stinks, to get to choose from such a fine menu which includes a pluto pup with half cooked batter, par cooked "hot chips", a jam donut, or a minute/grisle so called "steak" sandwich, f@cking offensive.

Just posted the above message while you were writing the last one, and you have made a great point. The question now is how do the track ownefs make a decent cut to upgrad etheir facilities?
