What exactly did he say? Dad made it out like he was begging for forgiveness.. ?

Sounded like a forced apology to me Mitch. He read most of it of a sheet of paper & didn't look real natural at all to me. He took full blame 4 the incident & basically said he should have left more room 4 Snoz & also said when he see's him next at EC he'll go & apolagise to Snoz in person, didn't wan't to do it over the phone. But then again....I don't know why he apologised anyway, they were both at fault in my book.

The agressive nature of MA is what makes him so appealing to Ford fans (& the fact that he's the only one who can consistently win for Ford) & why Holden fans hate him with a passion..

Don't change your ways Marcos. We don't need another defensive driver in the field as there is too many out there now...

I'm not a fan of Ambrose at all.... And he sucked up big time for what he said. Funny stuff to watch, I bet Skaife was laughing his head off at it!!!

I completely agree with you, Joe. Ambrose acts like he is God, and thinks he can get away with murder. Well, he can't, and I'm grateful to CAMS for ensuring he can't. Joe, remember Pukekohe 2003, Glenn was fending off Marcos, and Marcos got agitated, and started to complain on the radio, and his flash his lights at Glenn. That was a classic. Marcos needed Ingall to part the waves to get past Glenn.

I remember very well SF.... I hated the end of 2003 when Ambrose excepted everyone to get out of his way!!! He did the same thing at the gold coast that year, I just can't remember who it was??

Ambrose did an "OJ Simpson" - if the glove doesn't fit - u must aquit. However Ford's golden boy has some serious emotional chinks in his armour. Like Moffat in the 70's, Marcos is believing his own publicity, and god forbid anyone that dares to stand in his way.
He is a good steerer - better than most - but lacks the off track humility that goes with being a champion.
I agree with Marcos - it's a good thing he is going - bring on the "Good Ol Boys" to teach him a thang or two.

Marcos has a lot of similarities to Moff in my book. Both excellent drivers & don't give a **** about what people think of him.

That's why you either like him or you don't. In my book, the worst thing Ambrose has ever done was last sunday on RPM. Pathetic.

Whether you like him or not, what he has done for Ford can never be forgotten when he leaves the series at the end of the year. Without him, god knows how much more Holden crap us Ford fans would have had to put up with.

Anyone who can piss Murphy & Skaife off as much as he does is alright in my view....

No more apologies though Marcos, that was pathetic & very much unlike the Devil Racer...

It wasn't entirely the same thing at the Gold Coast. Rick Kelly was behind Marcos, a lap down, and declined 'opportunities' to unlap himself. Marcos brake-tested Rick at the end of the race, and the proceeded to give Rick a gobful afterwards. Then, in the press conference, Marcos had a whinge about you referred to, Joe, and Greg Murphy blew, quite justifiably, in my opinion.

What Marcos has done for Ford won't be forgotten, but he hasn't proven himself a better driver and bloke than Seto. Just my opinion.

SF, I was not talking about the Marcos/Murf thing... It happened during the race.. I think it might have been Ellery.. Marcos got on the radio & said his holding me up & the guy on the radio said, we'll go & talk to them & see if we can get him to move over!!!

I think you guys are being a bit hard on him.
I'll admit i think Ambrose went to far in apologisng to absolutely every body. He should have told Skaife to RAM IT BABY. He should have apologised to the officials and the fans and that as far as he should have gone.
He should have then ripped it up Sooky lala Skaife and told him how it happened which by the way Snoz should have done so as well.
Skaife's refusal to back off cost him, nothing else.Oh and apart from Marcos squeezing him a little

I reckon in many ways that Marcos has as much in common with Skaife as he does with Lowndes... while most people applaud his generally sunny nature, the more impromptu interviews he gives reveal a highly competitive and somewhat egocentric core, which has seemingly spurred him as effectively as the same characteristics have driven Skaife.

Most of the apologetic stuff we've heard would nearly have to be arranged by the PR spin-doctors... the idea of him polarising opinion to the same degree that MS has would be giving them mild palpitations!

I didn't see the need for an apology - it's not a popularity contest... on-track anyway, but I think he ran off at the mouth a bit on the day anyway, in addition to driving like a wombat at the start of race 2...

Call me a dickhead(again) but I actually thought Skaife had the right of way - the replay shows him in front with two wheels on the loose stuff and Marcos kept on coming. As for his apology, it seemed very carefully scripted by SBR's media team to minimise damage to team and sponsors.

When I was watching that interview with Marcos, I was suprized how prepared & 'offical' he was.
He must have been under instruction. I thought the incident was plain stupidity on Ambroses behalf.
But I was more shocked with his comments of how he was releived to be leaving the championship than the actual incident.
Now I don't care how much of it was heat of the moment, fair enough, he didn't put his brain in gear before opening his mouth. If thats the case don't do the interview after getting straight out of the car.
But for the current 2 time champion to make comments like that, especially after annoucing his leaving the catagory, was downright insulting. A bad case of sour grapes to me. I just hope for his sake he's learnt his lesson & can get on with winning the championship for the 3rd time.
I'll get off my soap box now.

What's a bloke to do, Marcos blows his top and loses it on TV (and who hasn't lost it at work at sometimes themselves), gets reamed by Ford supporters, probably pressured into an apology interview to try and redeem himself, and the Ford fans can him for that too. Fair dinkum, the Holden camp are laughing harder at us more so now, than when before Marcos started winning us some races, to give us back some pride and able to go to work on a Monday morning, after a weekend of racing and stick it back up the Red army, like they were doing to us for years.
Ford supporters need to let it go and support this guy along with all our other Ford racing drivers, for a good results for the rest of the season, we ain't won it yet.

My 2c worth

Gday Nascar, I certainly aint baggin the guy for apologising -however it was as if he was under extreme duress at the time.
As for doing an interview straight after the race/incident - thats part of their job, and is why they get the big bucks.
