Having read various posts on other forums, I think it is our duty to try and at least show that we want the 2010 Champion to stay at DJR. From what I understand his move is not done and dusted yet. Any thoughts ??

From Craig Lowndes today

I can see a lot of people will be upset with James Courtney's decision to leave DJR and Ford and go to HRT.

The original word was that he was going to stay with Ford and had a handshake deal to go to FPR.

Now he's changed his views and apparently is signing up with HRT.

James made a statement early this week that he would make his decision and release an announcement towards the end of this week.

Even though he supposedly has a get out clause in his contract around ownership changes, it doesn't automatically mean that he will exercise that option.

Hopefully Dick and the team can convince him that they will be competitive next year and provide him with a good chance to back up his championship win with another.

James has to decide if he wants to get paid lots but have no guarantee that he will be the number 1 at HRT, or even on an equal level with Tander. His other option is to stay where he is, but can DJR provide him with the goods to take it to the better funded teams next year?

The chassis are about to enter their 3rd season and it would be timely to upgrade James to a new chassis. The team will have to decide if they can get a bit more out of "Herbie" before they upgrade.

Cheers
John

I wish he would stay but I think he will be gone. JNr moff to come on board. We got a new chassis for JC if he wants to hang around. I like JC but if he goes to HRT I will discard him like a turd. HRT are crap. They will put him 2nd and will only be wanted there to weaken ford, not for his talent. If he thinks other wise is more dunce than Will. I would take trophies and respect over a pay packet.

I am sure the HRT deal was done a long time ago, but you have to give credit to James for the way that he has approached the situation. He has held off the announcement to try to give DJR the maximum media exposure and Kudos which they deserve.

Perhaps it is the least he could do for DJR after winning the championship and running, but I still feel that he deserves our respect.

While racing for HRT I hope Courtney crash and burns, and I am sure he will soon regret his decision. When you are ready to come back to DJR I will welcome you with open arms.

nope, i think for the first time in my life i might accept a HRT victory next season, so long as it's JC and not GT... He's done everything right, James Courtney... and around the time when he signed for HRT the team didnt look like it was going to see out the month, so i dont think we can blame him for securing his future... If he hadnt have taken the HRT drive, and then we DID fold... where would he have gone??

See Ya James..and as far as I`m concerned you deliberatly took Sj out and you knew you would get off being in the same team and in particular the crucial time you executed your move. [dance]

good luck J.C, i personally dont think he will be able to come back to the blue side like Will did, James has lost alott of frenids, i doubt the 3 main ford teams in, DJR, FPR and SBR would welcome him back after he finds out crashing hrt cars isent much fun.. He hasent even drove for fpr but he has dogged them twice..

JC seems to have upset Charlie, but it would appear that Dicky holds no grudge at all... i think he'd have him back in a heart beat..

I think you know what i'm trying to say... if Courtney goes there and races well and wins fair and square, i wont complain.. Good luck to him. He'll always be one of my favourites now..

A bit like Brighty... the guy whinges and swaps back and forth, but i'll always love him for winning in 98 lol

I heard from 2 diff sorces that JC took out an AVO on charlie.. explains why charlie was nowhere to be seen in celebrations whe JC was around. He must have fliped out when JC pull the pin on the FPR deal. JC will be in court reg FPR one day
