I can't access e-Bay from where I am, but I assume that it's the Bo Seton-built, Graeme Moore driven, Bryan Byrt-sponsored car (it raced in Green-and-Yellow colours, but the last I saw of it - a couple of years ago on some other cars-for-sale site, it was a really dark blue) that Dick co-drove to 3rd in class and 10th outright in 1976.

It's apparently a genuine RS3100 car, and probably collectible for that alone, if you're a Capri fan.

You are correct Henry, that is the car for sale. The current owner is John Harris. it is a fairly collectable car and a significant part of Dick's history at Bathurst.

Cheers

It has been fully restored back to the green and yellow colours, you've just supplied me more info than I could find on google. Thanks mate.[bw]

IIRC there was a small story in an early issue of AMC, prior to it being restored. It was still in the dark blue or purple looking colour.

Yeah, I think I'd seen it there, a loooong time ago... it showed up on Terry Healy's website too... Terry is the guy who tracks down strange and unusual cars for collectors like the Bowdens; restoration is generally subbied out (there are a couple of guys in NSW Northern Rivers who get a guernsey on that sort of stuff, plus the other guys in SEQ)

Yes, the very same. John was a loyal lieutenant to BB, although his enthusiam for the racing programme was fairly non-existent in those days, according to DJ. When Bryan died in 1978, John kept the race team going, out of respect for Bryan and his probable wishes, albeit on a much reduced budget.

John was the man that DJ brokered the deal with for the XD in 1980, and sponsored Alf Grant in the ex-DJR XD until the end of Group C.
