Pretty sure everyone has seen this by now, what are you thoughts?

Another nail in the coffin for Supercars?

Used to love hating HRT but ever since Skaife got shafted by Walkinshaw they haven't been even worth laughing at.

So from 2017 we can expect another name change to T8 Supercars.

Roland is certainly tying up most of the teams and already runs most of the show now.

Can't understand how Supercars let it get to this.

Can only hope the form follows the Holden Racing Team name from Walkinshaw to T8.

I suspect that the series will go down in much the same way as Holdens decision to call their imported commodore replacement a Commodore.

Surely they are blind, but Team Red has gotta see through any attempt to claim that whatever Opel based piece of garbage we get here post closure of manufacturing is in no way a "Holden" or a "Commodore"

Then again, history does show otherwise...

IS whipper snapper Walkinshaq getting his cumuppence ?

Could this be another car for T888, . .with a possible seat for Pye ?

So if you want to race a new Holden in 2018 you MUST purchase it from 888.

Why else would Vince suggest a 4th car for Pye @ T8 ?

I just haven't heard of anyone else offering up a spot for Pye as yet so I figured what the hell, might as well put it out there ( doing a Phelps, say it first and if it happens claim the kudos )

I find this announcement very weird.
What exactly would a team be buying?
888 don't make engines. The chassis and rear suspension are control parts = common to all brands - so no need or point for someone (Holden?) to say that any team that wants to race a Holden skinned & powered car must source these bits from 888. Unless as part of the Holden / 888 deal, Holden are putting in very little money but promising 888 revenue from exclusive rights. That may just force teams away from running a Holden.

well maybe I spoke to soon, . . with HRT gone from walkinshaw , the younger version wants to stay in the category, and has some new plans for 2017, . . rumours are getting about that Scotty Pye is talking with them and may find a home there for next year. . . [bgn]
