If you're referring to the 'V8 Supercar Ford Fan Day', I've not heard anything. I was at the one last year and wouldn't mind going again.

I have done a search and can find no reference to an All Ford Day anywhere in QLD. There was one recently held in Victoria which was attended by some Geelong AFL players but thats all I could find.

Poita when I lived in Brisbane about 10yrs ago there was an All Ford Day at the Beenleigh Rum Distillery, Just up the road from DJR and SBR.
Might still be in the same area, Hope this helps.

Hey Chaps, The All Ford Day is on at the Kedron Sports Club, 6th Avenue Kedron on Sunday 21st September 2008. It is hosted by the GT Falcon Owners Club of QLD and is an awesome day out. I am a member of the GT Falcon Owners Club Gold Coast and we always bring along as many cars as we can to support this event.

If you want to display your car it costs $5 and you don't have to be a member of a club to attend. General entry for a look is $2. They also have judging and trophys. There is also a Swap Meet on too. I am planning to have my new engine in my XY and this event will be it's first run. So come along and say gudday.

Regards
John

you could try the XR club's website, I think they organise the Ford days.

I just tried to find somthing there but you need to be registered to access that and so I registered and it tells me i still can't have access until an admin allows it,

OK , thanks John.

I was posting at the same time, [hb]

Thanks guys. I dont think it been advertised very much.

You guys that show your GT's at the shows, do you find that its a long day having to keep your cars on show until the end of the day?

Just asking out of courisity, must you have a GT to be a member?

Nascar the QLD club has associate membership, which is for cars like V8 Fairmonts, Falcon GS's , replica's and the occasional Mustang.
I originally joined in the mid 80's with an XD ESP 351 4 speed and then bought the XWGT in 89.
Associate membership is capped to make sure that associate cars don't over run the GT's.
Once you become a full member( Genuine GT owner ) if you sell the car you then become an associate member for as long as you want to be in the club.

Mate the show and shine part can drag on a bit but most guys are car nuts and there is always plenty of cars to look at.
Doesn't matter either way as you're catching up with friends so a great deal of time is spent chatting cars with them. Or on runs like Valla park drinking copious amounts of alcohol with them.

Back in the old days before speed cameras and the rest of the governemnts crap on speeding the club runs were way fun.
One year on a weekend run to Hervey bay i picked up my X wife from her work in Morningside friday midday and we pulled into Maryborough for a bite to eat at 2:10pm.
The year after we left from a mates place at Narangba and we were at Hervey Bay 2 hours later.
Overtaking with a healthy V8 under the bonnet certainly makes for fast trips.
These days with the value of the cars and the way speed limits are enforced everybody sticks to the speed limits and behaves.

Top effort that!

Back OT, it's gotta be worth a look (and I'd be a slackarse if I didn't make a 20-minute trip to look at Fords anyway!)

No Col, I'll have to give Valla a miss this year. Between the Muscle Car Masters, Bathurst and the 2009 GT Nationals next year, I will have used my allocation of brownie points! Funding all these excursions is getting a bit harder too.

Cheers

Ok

I think this is my 22nd or 23rd Valla.
They're a bit tame these days but still good fun.
Early in the piece you once got the Con-Tiki tour buses stopping overnight so it was heaven for us single at the time guys.
